Below are some of the most common questions asked for AW. I will try and cover both cams and phones but if there is a question I haven’t covered feel free to ask and I will try and find the answer.
CAMS
Why should I offer Free Mode in DirectCam?
Members are able to view your cam and chat to you direct for 3 minutes in Free Mode.
Members are far more likely to go into Private Mode or Group Mode once they can see that you are genuine and they will have an idea as to the quality of your Webcam.
Note that video quality is limited to 200Kbps in Free mode with no audio, but unlimited in group/private and with audio if the service provider supports it.
Most members use the free rooms to chat up the clients and entice them into a paid for mode.
The number of times any member can re-join free mode with the same Service Provider is under review.
What is the DirectCam Facility Fee?
There is a 5% facility fee that is deducted from your AdultWork.com credits account at the end of the session(s). This fee covers the cost of the third party technology supplier who provides the platform for the AdultWork.com Membership to broadcast their webcam sessions.
This is a third party cost that is outside our control, although a cost that should be viewed as insignificant given the increased revenues that are achievable by broadcasting to many clients in group mode. It would be costly software for individuals to purchase and MSN/Yahoo are unable to provide this service at this point in time.
Note: The existing booking methods for use with MSN/Yahoo are still fully functional.
I am logged in to JustCamIt (JCI) but do not appear on the Site .
It can take anything from 1 to 3 or 4 minutes for you to appear as online for DirectCam, once you've logged in to JCI. Similarly updates to your current mode (in group or private etc.) are delayed in this manner
This information is updated regularly but the more people there are logged in to JCI the longer it takes to update.
How do I offer and initiate 2-way DirectCam sessions? (for Offering Services)
You must have JustCamIt version 2.0.0 or above to be able to see a client's webcam.
Then all you need to do is ask the client if he/she has a webcam and wishes to participate in 2-way.
To start a 2-way session, right-click the client's Nickname in the JustCamIt software and select "Start TwoWay..."
The client will then need to confirm that they wish to use their webcam in the session.
I want to offer DirectCam / DirectIM but the registration pages don't let me choose it.
DirectCam is an extension to Webcam Services. You use the DirectCam broadcasting software, JustCamIt, to broadcast your video and chat with other members.
DirectIM is a cut down version of DirectCam that allows typed-chat only with no video.
If you wish to offer DirectCam, simply select "Webcam Work" on the Registration Details or Registration page. You will then be able to configure your DirectCam options via the Edit Profile Page.
If you wish to offer DirectIM only and if you offer no other service, such as Phone Chat or SMS Chat, then tick "Erotic Content". You will then be able to specify your DirectIM options via the Edit Profile Page.
Are members viewing Free Mode in DirectCam genuine?
To dispel timewasters, Members must have sufficent credits to conduct a minimum of a 3 minute session before they are permitted to join Free Mode in DirectCam.
How do I know if someone is in private session with me on DirectCam?
The member's nickname appears on the message section of the DirectCam screen when they connect to you.
What's the difference between free, private and group modes?
• Free - is a shared preview area where you can broadcast your camera and chat with other members and entice them to go into one of the paid for modes.
• Group - is a shared paid for area where you broadcast your camera and chat with one or more members.
• Private - is a one-to-one private room with only yourself and the viewing member.
In Free mode the picture quality will be less superior to Group and Private modes and only 8 people can be viewing at once, (each for a maximum of 4 minutes). In Group and Private modes the camera/picture quality should be far superior and is only limited by your hardware and Internet connection speed. You should use the Audio menu within JustCamIt to decide if you want to broadcast audio as well as video in the group/private modes. It is disabled in free mode.
MISCELLANEOUS
I completed a transfer request but the funds have not arrived.
When did you complete the transfer request?
The time it takes to receive your funds once we have processed your transfer request for payment depends on the transfer method you choose.
All transfer requests are processed weekly once they are 2 weeks old. The date on which your request will be processed is shown on the form when you fill it out.
The cut off time for transfer requests is midnight on Monday as transfers are usually processed on Tuesday each week. If you make your requests weekly, you will start to receive your funds weekly.
• ePassporte : Once your account has accrued a minimum of 30 credits, you can request a transfer.
On the date your transfer is processed, your funds are accessible immediately - no postal delays or bank clearing times
• Cheques/Checks : Once your account has accrued a minimum of 50 credits, you can request a transfer.
Cheques are posted on the day after the processing date. Depending on the efficiency of the postal system, you should receive your cheque within 14 working days.
• If you have not received your cheque after 14 days wish to cancel please do not use the form at the end of this article but instead view the help centre article entitled "I haven't received my cheque updated 6/12/2007"
• ESP Transfer Request Form (European Standard Payment): Once your account has accrued a minimum of 150 credits, you can request a transfer If you have a European bank account with a BIC and IBAN number. If your bank account is eligible then the required numbers will be printed on your bank statement. Funds from ESP bank transfers are usually received within 5 Working Days of the processing date.
• BACS:Regrettably we are no longer able to offer credits transfers directly to UK bank accounts.
• View your Credits Request History page to see all of the requests you have made with the relevant transfer and processing dates displayed.
Please note that our dates are not bank holiday aware, so if the dates fall on a bank holiday you should add an extra working day to the expected time.
It is important to remember that the date you request a transfer is not necessarily the date it is processed.
I get a message about a negative balance when withdrawing
If you are getting, "Performing this transfer would result in you having a negative balance..." when making your transfer request then the following has happened.
You have been earning credits through Private Gallery Subscriptions, Movie Views, Webcam/Phone Chat Sessions etc., but you have also been spending credits, (on the same or on being featured, displaying your phone number, available today feature etc.).
To work out the amount you can transfer, what you have earned needs to be adjusted to take in to consideration the amount that has been spent. The transfer request process starts off by trying to give you everything that you've earned. If you have spent some of these earnings though, this would give you a negative balance.
E.G:
You have a movie for 1 credit from which you have received 5 credits.
You spent 1 credit on the phone number display feature so although you have earned 5, you now only have 4.
The transfer request process tries to give you 5. Your balance of 4, minus the 5 you're withdrawing would give you a balance of -1, a negative balance.
Directly following the error message that you see is a link saying "Click here to correct the above negative balance problem."
In most cases clicking on that link does fix the problem. Based on the above example, what it does is go through the 5 movie credits you've received and marks one of them as not being transferrable. So, the withdrawal process says, 4 credits to withdraw, a balance of 4. 4 - 4 = 0 which is fine.
The Click Here link does a few other things if it can't find an earn that matches the value of the shortfall. (E.g. if you had received 5 credits from earns of 2.50 x 2). You may see a message on your Credits History saying something like was [amount] and then after that see from previous. This is where it has split your earns in to two transactions so it can then mark one of them as not transferrable.
In some cases however it is not able to deal with this problem and you see the final message saying, "x credits could not be removed from your transfer request as you have not received credits in corresponding quantities." This would be when your most recent transaction is a spend or is not available for withdrawal, (see the date next to each transaction on your Credits History).
This is a minor flaw in the way the credits system has been put together. That having been said, the benefits of doing it this way are such as to make it worthwhile.
If you are experiencing this problem and it is preventing you from making your request then you have three options.
1. Wait until the last transaction on your credits history is available for withdrawal.
If you do webcam or phone chat then this would be when immediately after you have finished a booking.
If you have movies, this would be immediately after you have received a movie view, (assuming the shortfall is less than the price of the movie).
If you only have a private gallery you need to keep a close eye on the dates of withdrawal but you probably get subscriptions to often to make this possible, especially if you are spending credits on the other features of the site.
2. Credit your account with an amount sufficient to cover the shortfall. Using your debit/credit card, or via SMS, you can top up your account with the amount needed.
Then you would need to contact us so we can mark that purchase as being transferrable.
3. We lend you the amount. For amounts under 1 credit we would consider lending you the credits required which we would recoup later.
This is rarely done until the cut off date for bank transfers though as you have time to upload a movie or perform a session that would, as per 1 above, fix the problem.
What am I not allowed to do?
This is not an exhaustive list. Please check our Terms of Use for the full list. The items below are the most common reasons for why content/profiles are removed.
1. Specify a telephone number anywhere except the two telephone number fields. Mobile Number and Phone Chat Number. (This includes phone numbers in pictures.)
2. Specify a URL anywhere except within the Manage Links section of your Edit Profile Page. This includes pictures but does not include movies. If you choose to add a URL then the website at that URL MUST display one of our banners. Ensure our banner is displaying first before adding your link. Banners can be found here. If you're offering services full linking code can be found at the bottom of your My Details page.
3. Advertise as offering something that in fact you don't. Advertising as an Escort or Webcam provider when you are not actually offering that service is not permitted. Similar tactics to increase exposure to your private gallery or movies will also result in removal and loss of credits.
4. Create more than one profile advertising the same person. The only exception is if this person is also advertising with someone else as a couple.
5. Pay members, or incite payment, for services offered on this site outside the credits system. This pertains to Webcam and Phone Chat bookings. We play no part in the payment for Escort bookings.
6. Members are not permitted to run pre-recorded DirectCam shows and/or display banners/messages within the Freeview Section of DirectCam. Please refer to our Terms of Use for further information.
Can I register more than one profile?
Normally only one profile is allowed per person.
However, members are permitted:
One Seeking Services profile
One Offering Services profile (solo)
One Offering Services profile (duo)
One Other Services profile
If you are offering services as a couple (duo) and on your own (solo) you may also create a profile for your couple but the gender must be set as one of the available couples and each profile must mention or link to the other profiles.
If you have more than one login and you leave ratings for one of your other profiles, all of them will be removed.
What is the cut off date for credit withdrawals?
Requests made on or before a Tuesday will appear in accounts two weeks after, on the following Friday.
For example, if you made a request on a Monday, the funds will be in your bank account on the Friday before the Monday three weeks later.
To get your money as quickly as possible you should be completing request forms every Tuesday of every week (or weekly at least). From two weeks after your first request, you will receive funds in to your bank account every week.

How can I sustain and increase interest in my profile?

5. Feature your profile. Get to the top of the Search Results. See the link at the top of your My Details Page for more information.

10. Finally, keep your profile fresh. Change your profile pictures, update your summary and details at least once a week.
